The History is Rich Surrounding San Antonio Homes

Learn more about the history near your San Antonio home by visiting Mission San José. This beautiful site is a part of the National Park Service and is located at 6701 San Jose Drive in San Antonio. The grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Founded in 1720, Mission San José is the biggest of the five missions in San Antonio. Missions were not only churches, but communities that had the church as the focus. Visiting this site gives visitors a glimpse into life in the early 1700’s. The architecture is beautiful with big arches, a tall belltower, walls full of apartments, and a beautiful Rose Window.

Uncover History when Exploring the San Antonio Real Estate Landscape

Start your visit to the mission at the Visitor Center. There is an informative 23 minute video called Gente de Razon - People of Reason. Catch the film every half hour, take a look around the museum, and browse the WNPA bookstore. Also stop into the gift shop to grab a souvenir to take back to your San Antonio home. When finished, explore the grounds on your own while looking at the informational placards, or choose to go on a ranger led program. These tours are free and usually last about 45 minutes. Tours are available at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. daily. Mission San José is still an active parish and invites guests to join them for mass on Sundays.

Drive to the mission or consider making a whole day of it and explore the Hike and Bike Trail. This trail runs along the San Antonio River and connects the five missions in the city. These missions include The Alamo, Mission San Juan, Mission San José, Mission Espada, and Mission Concepcion. Each mission is about 2.5 miles from the last. Experience many neighborhoods filled with beautiful San Jose real estate, farmland, animals, and many native plants along your journey. Toasts Ring Out Near San Antonio Homes

Enjoy an evening away from your San Antonio home at the first annual Taste at the Tower. This event will take place on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the base of the Tower of the Americas. Come celebrate Fiesta’s opening day. There will be something for all ages. Families can walk around the park and taste appetizers from many San Antonio restaurants. The kids can vote for the best appetizer and the best booth to win a prize. When tummies are full, kids can have a blast at the Go RIO Family Fiesta Fun Zone. Relax as the children expel energy in the bouncy house, participate in the piñata smash, have their faces painted, and receive a goody bag to take back to their San Antonio home. They will be sure to sleep well!

Friends and Family Have Fun on San Antonio Real Estate 

Adults can enjoy two drink tickets. Beverage options include soda, beer, wine, and frozen cocktails. There will also be live entertainment and tasty appetizers from local restaurants. Participating restaurants include Saltgrass Steakhouse, Landry’s Seafood House, Chart House, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rainforest Cafe, and Joe’s Crab Shack.

Tickets are on sale now. Admission tickets for adults are $50 for adults in advance or $55 the day of. Kids ages four to 13 can get in for $25. Children three and under are free. Anyone in the military can enjoy tickets for just $39. These must be purchased at the event. Just be sure to bring your valid military I.D. Consider purchasing a VIP ticket for $75. This will provide access to a private cocktail area. VIP ticket holders will also receive a Fiesta medal and have the best view of the fireworks. Landry’s Select Club Members have access to tickets for a reduced price. Parking is available next to the federal building, but it is a great idea to carpool or take public transportation. Take Tea in the Garden by San Antonio Homes

The Japanese Tea Garden offers a beautiful outdoor escape to those who call San Antonio home. This garden has recently been restored and rehabilitated. It reopened in March of 2008 with improvements made to walkways, walls, and the ponds. This garden is a beautiful place to visit any month of the year and offers eye catching floral displays, stone bridges, and shaded walkways. Don’t miss the 60 foot waterfall and the ponds filled with Koi.

This garden has been in the city for over 100 years. It has changed and been improved several times and more improvements are on the way. The Japanese Tea Garden is a lovely place to visit with friends or family. Walk through and get ideas for the landscaping for your own San Antonio real estate and grab some food or a beverage at Jingu House Café. There are also several areas available for rent including the pavilion and waterfall area and the Jingu House and patio. Consider hosting a small wedding, memorial service, or corporate gathering at the park.

The Japanese Tea Garden is available to all who call San Antonio home as well as visitors to the city everyday from dawn to dusk. The grounds are wheelchair accessible. Please note that if you wish to have a professional photography session at the park, it needs to be scheduled in advance by contacting the San Antonio Parks Foundation. The Japanese Tea Garden is free to visit and located a short distance from downtown. Have an adventure and visit the garden as well as several other historical sites in the area.
